In 1990, when the very first vines were being planted at Peerick, Reg Jessup took pride in planting, single-handedly, a whole row of Pinot Noir vines. Twenty-two vines in all! Thus commenced the enterprise which was to become Peerick Vineyard, and to mark its origins, we have named our very limited production of Pinot Noir, "Reg's Row". Reg did not live to see the first Pinot Noir in a bottle, but somewhere, somehow, we think he is savouring the thought of it. The wine itself is uncomplicated, fresh and ideal for a sunny afternoon with a salad and a beach umbrella. |
